Michael Saidani and Harrison Kim were recognized with the Reviewers' Choice Award (top 10%) in the International Conference on Engineering Design (ICED21) in Gothenberg, Sweden.


ESOL alumni, Drs. Jinju Kim and Junegak Joung started as faculty members in the Korean Air Force Academy and Hanyang University. They are the sixth and seventh faculty member among ESOL alumni.
Prof. Kim (PI) was awarded with $1M DOE REMADE funding (2021-2023) with Prof. Pingfeng Wang (Co-PI) for economic and environmental benefits of remanufacturing in America. The project is partnered with Iowa State University, Green Electronics Council, and John Deere.
Prof. Kim (Co-PI) was awarded with $10.9M DOE funding with Prof. Dallas Trinkle (Co-PI) in MatSE UIUC for new metal processing innovation in February 2020. The project is led by U of Florida.
A paper by Dedy Suryadi and Harrison Kim was recognized as one of the Reviewers' Choice Award (top 10%) in the International Conference on Engineering Design (ICED19) in Delft, The Netherlands.
Prof. Kim was awarded with the ASME Kos Ishii - Toshiba Award for his contributions in design for sustainability and manufacturing in 2019.
Prof. Kim was awarded with research funding from Hyundai Motor Co. for User-Centered Vehicle Suspension System Design $120,000 (2018-2019), and from Deere and Co. for Sustainable Product Design $1,192,090 (2010-2020).
