ESOL News

Prof. Harrison Kim started serving as the Program Director in the Civil, Mechanical, Manufacturing Innovation Division at the US National Science Foundation in 2025.


ESOL alumnus, Dr. Michael Saidani started as faculty member at Ecole de technologie superieure in Canada. He is the ninth faculty member among ESOL alumni.
Prof. Kim (Co-PI) was awarded with $10.9M DOE funding with Prof. Dallas Trinkle (Co-PI) in MatSE UIUC for new metal processing innovation in February 2020. The project is led by U of Florida.
Prof. Kim was awarded with the ASME Design Automation Award for his contributions in design research in 2024.
